Around the world, from the biggest to the smallest towns, LGBTQ+ people celebrate Pride. With rainbow flags, music and dancing, Pride parades may look like parties--but they actually began with a riot more than fifty years ago! Today, Pride is both celebration and protest. It is about honoring the past, celebrating a diverse community, and fighting for equality.
